Dependent Territories of Oceania Countries and Regions
New Caledonia, French Polynesia, Wallis & Futuna, Guam, Northern Marina Islands, American Samoa, Tokelau, Cook Island and Niue are the dependent territories of the Oceania Continents.
New Caledonia
New Caledonia is a unique region of France, located 1,210 km east of Australia, which is the southwestern region of the Pacific Ocean. The official language of this region is French.
New Caledonia is divided into three provinces North, South, and Loyalty Islands provinces which has a population of 285,498 as of May 2020. The total surface area of New Caledonia is about 18,576 sq. Km.
French Polynesia
French Polynesia or the Collectivity of French Polynesia is known as the sole overseas country of France, as it contains 118 geographically dispensed Islands in the south Pacific Ocean. Also, this region has coral atoll (ring-shaped coral reef) which extends for more than 2000 km.
The Society Islands Archipelago, the Tuamota Archipelago, the Gambier Islands, The Marquesas Islands, and the Austral Islands are the five groups of islands found in French Polynesia.
The total surface area of French Polynesia is about 4,167 sq. Km with a population of 280,908 as of May 2020.
Wallis & Futuna
Wallis and Futuna also are known as the Territory of the Wallis and Futuna Islands are a French island in the Southern region of Pacific Ocean. The surface area of Wallis & Futuna is 142.42 sq. Km and has a population of 11,239 as of 2020.
French is the official language of this region, but dominantly spoken language in these regions are Wallisian Language and the Futuna Language.
Gaum
Gaum is an unincorporated territory of the United States in Micronesia which is in the western Pacific Ocean. Hagåtña, also known as Agana, is the capital village of Gaum, people living in this region are American Citizens by Birth and are called Guamanians.
The surface area of Gaum is 540 sq. Km with a population of 168,775 as of 2020.
Northern Marina Islands
The Northern Mariana Islands also know as the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands (CNMI) is a United States Territories in the Northwestern region of Pacific Ocean. Northern Marina Islands is a group of 14 Islands with a population of 57,513 as of 2020. It has a surface area of 477 sq. Km.
American Samoa
American Samoa is an unincorporated territory of the United States located in the southern region of the Pacific Ocean. American Samoa is a group of five volcanic islands, Tutuila, Aunu’u, Ta’u, Olosega, Ofu, and Nu’utele, and two coral atolls, Rose and Swains Islands.
People living in American Samoa can speak English and Samoan languages fluently. American Samoa has a population of 55,212 and surface area of 199 sq. Km.
Tokelau
Tokelau also is known as Union Island is a territory of New Zealand in the southern region of the Pacific Ocean. Atafu, Nukunonu and Fakaofo are the three coral atolls of Tokelau.
Tokelau has a total Surface area of 10 sq. Km and has a population of 1,357 as of 2020.
Cook Island
Cook Island is a self-governing island country in the southern region of the Pacific Ocean. But Cook Island is dependent on New Zealand for its defence and foreign affairs. Cook Island is a group of 15 Islands with the surface area of 240 sq. Km and has a population of 17,562 as of May 2020.
Niue
Niue is a self-governing island country in the southern region of the Pacific Ocean. Niue is the largest Coral Island in the world with the surface area of 261 sq. Km and has a population of 1,626 as of 2020

Australasia
Australasia contains countries like Australia, New Zealand and islands near these two countries in the Pacific Ocean. Meaning of the word Australasia is south of Asia. Some people consider New Guinea as a part of the Australasian region. Still, many people consider it to be a part of the Melanesian region.
Australia also known as the Commonwealth of Australia, is the sixth-largest country in the world. Also known as the smallest continent among the 7 continent of the world. Australia is the largest among all the countries of the oceanic with the surface area of 7,692,000 sq. Km. The population of Australia is 25,461,485 as of May 2020.
New Zealand is an Isolated landmass with two main Island North Island and South Island.
New Zealand falls in the southwestern Pacific Ocean. The population of New Zealand is 4,822,233 as of May 2020 and has a surface area of 268,021 sq. Km.

There are five Independent Nations (Kiribati, Marshall Islands, Palau, Nauru, and the Federated States of Micronesia) and three US territories (Northern Mariana Islands, Guam and Wake Island) in Micronesia.
